This is one of my favorite items to buy for dinner at Trader Joe’s, chicken lasagna. It’s one of those items that if you have it once, you will almost crave it at times, especially if you are like me, and LOVE pasta in general anyway.
At four (4) servings per container, or one (1) for people like me, it is very filling. Calories are not too bad, even if you do eat the entire container yourself, being only 270 calories per serving.
Fat is a modest 11 g, cholesterol is 60 g, carbohydrates 23 g, and protein a whopping 20 g per serving. Preservative free, and like most things from Trader Joe’s very few if any artificial ingredients, or dyes.
One of the other great things about this dish is how easy it is to make. Just a few minutes in the microwave, let it set for a few more (very important), then you are ready to eat. I mention the letting it set, because I have found out the hard way that if you try to eat it straight out off the microwave, you will find yourself having a very burned tongue, or mouth. Just a few minutes to “rest” does the trick.
For me it’s quite filling alone for dinner, but you may pair it with a small side salad of Trader Joe’s Romaine Lettuce or something similar, and split the dish into two or more. That way you will be having a more balanced meal, and perhaps, depending on who you share with, make a new friend.
Trader Joe’s Chicken Lasagna in the refrigerated section, not frozen, so you can have it in minutes. Usually placed very near the fresh refrigerated pasta, chicken breast patties, and items like that. In my store, it’s on the aisle across from the chips, and pita crisps.
